Happy St Patricks Day

Christian was super excited to show me the gold coins they found at preschool that the leprechaun had left behind. Imagine his excitement when I showed him what was inside those gold coins :)

Validation for Being a Parent

A few days ago Evan woke up from his nap. Christian loves to open the door for Evan to come out. I was in the bathroom and Christian opened the door and Evan was sitting in his bed crying and I hear Christian say "Oh Evan! Did you have a bad dream? It's okay lets say a prayer." He then helped Evan say a quick little prayer and right after I heard him say amen Christian said to Evan "See buddy now your not scared any more!" Then they walked out of his room and went to play. It made my day.

Random Post

No pictures again, sorry. This post is devoted to things I want to write down but don't really have a solid unifying subject, I just want to write them down so I don't forget some of the fun things my kids are doing/saying. Here we go.

Christian:

Absolutely fascinated with Volcanoes, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Thunderstorms, etc. Mom and Dad just got back from Hawaii and brought him some postcards of Volcanoes, he pretty much died and went to heaven.

He walks around all day saying Da, da, Dog- D starts with Dog! And no I didn't just say that wrong, I know he is suppose to say Dog starts with D, but he says it the other way around. He is constantly sounding out every word he here's or says figuring out what it starts with.

Very often, Christian comes up to me and says "Mom, this is a job for superman!" Which means it is time to get into his superman costume and save the day. He's big into super heroes he just recently discovered Iron Man when we visited family in Wyoming.

When Christian is surprised or excited he says "Oh my Goshing!" It is one of my favorite things right now.

Christian is very loving, he tells me all the time that he loves me and Dan.

Christian went on a no-prayer-saying streak for a while but he's back in action and his prayers usually go like this "Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, thank you that mom and dad can be nice, thank you for me and Santa, thank you for the food and please bless it. Jesus Christ, Amen. Often times same phrases are repeated multiple times. I think it is cute and I am glad he is willing and wanting to pray, but only at meal times, he still makes me say his bed time prayer.

Some of the games he asks to play throughout the day are Hi Ho Cherry O and the Lion Game. The Lion game is when one of us goes into their room and pretends we are asleep, Christian will tell you whether you are going to be a nice baby lion or a mean lion. Then the others who are playing come in and wake up the lion, if it's the nice baby lion then there is lots of petting and baby talk. If it's the mean lion you have to let out a huge roar and chase everyone around the house until they kill you dead. Evan of course loves to be included in these games to. They also like to play hide-n-seek, Christian has got he hang of it, but Evan still needs help. It's fun when they will play on their own together and I can listen to them giggle when they find each other.

Evan:

Evan is really trying to talk right now which is sooo nice, but sometimes frustrated for all party's involved. He's got his vowels down but the constants are tricky for him. When he wants me to rub his tummy and sing to him he says "Mommy, bummy! Zip!" translation, unzip my jammies and tickle my tummy please.

Evan is definitely a little brother and has learned how to fight back. If Christian hits him he usually slap Christian right back, and sometimes Evan is the one dishing it out. So we learning all about time outs right now.

Evan is a little clumsy, he still falls down a lot! Sometimes he will be standing there and then the next second he's down on he ground- poor kid has a little bit of his mom in him. ;)

He loves to READ! We will sit and read for 15-30 minutes. I love that he says certain parts of the books as we read them.

Evan is really good at playing on his own, and thanks to Christian is developing a fun imagination.

He loves to snuggle and cuddle, and he love, love, LOVES his blankie!

Evan's current allergy list is, dairy, eggs, garlic, and all nuts. At his last visit we poked his back to see how seafood and shellfish were coming along since it was the smallest blood percentage and he is no longer allergic to these foods. I still haven't tried him on them for a couple reasons; neither me or Dan are big fans of seafood. I would like to try him on Tuna, but I can't mix it with mayo or miracle whip because he is still allergic to those and I think Tuna without those condiments is gross. Anyway, I am grateful there is one thing off of the long list and keep praying and hoping more will leave as he grows and develops.
Some favorite things he says are "Yup" with an emphasis on the p. When he gets excited about anything he says very enthusiastically says "YEAH!"
When he ask for a snack he is very specific about how he wants it, you can't just put a couple of crackers on the table, he needs them in a bowl, or he needs two- one for each hand of course.

Both of the boys love when Dan comes home and the second he gets home they want to jump off the stairs into his arms at least 10 times each, more if Dan will let them. It's always fun when Daddy comes home.
