Shopping Carts
Dear Person who decided to attach the little cars or other ride on thing for you kids to the grocery shopping cart,
I really do appreciate the thought but I really, really, REALLY HATE THESE! Pushing carts with these attached should be made an olympic sport because not only are they ridiculously long and awkward to maneuver but almost inevitably they will be the cart that has some weird wheel that won't swivel or turn making things even harder then they should be. Also the "fun" factor of these carts has worn off for my kids. Even though they beg and plead for one every time I get to the store, and for some brain numb moment I say to myself "maybe this time it will be different"...it's not. My kids play in the attachment for approximately 2.5 seconds and then they are doing one or all of the following in no specific order: climbing on top of it, hanging their heads clear out of it so they get whacked by the shelf as I am trying my best to turn the stupid cart without taking the display out, or they have completely left the attachment all together and now are running up and down the aisle singing "The Wiseman" song from primary at the top of their lungs. Which brings me to the next point to why I hate these carts. Now that I have children crawling all over the cart and running up and down the aisles I become "That Mom"- you know, the mom whose cart is full of food along with 2 screaming kids. One kid is in the back crying because his mom put him there for not staying in the attachment. His foot is right in the middle of the bread that is in the cart and his other leg is dangling out of the cart because he is trying to get out. The other kid is crying because I've already been in the store way to long, all he wants is for me to hold him because he's tired and hungry. But you see this is not possible because trying to maneuver one of these carts while holding another child is beyond possible. And because you are "That Mom" you decide to give the stupid attachment one more go, and stick both kids in just to repeat the whole dang process again!
So, dear person who invented these things I have one question for you, do you have something against your mom and is this your sick way of getting revenge? Because if it is I will find you and kick your butt! And then I will gather all carts with attachments and destroy them.
The End.

Dinos
At the beginning of this month all my family was in Utah! On Tuesday we all decided to hit up Thanksgiving Point for 2 dollar Tuesday- it was a mad house with how many people were there, but we had a blast.

Camping :)
Before we had kids me and Dan were pretty spontaneous people... with the kids that usually is not the case any more. But a few weeks ago around lunch time Dan said "lets go camping!" and I said "okay, when?" and he said, "today after work" I freaked out and flew into high gear to get everything together. Thankfully we've been camping enough that everything was pretty much packed in boxes. I was excited because we didn't have a chance to go camping last summer and we haven't been this summer, and Evan has never been camping. We decided to head up south fork, and about half way up we realized they were no fire signs posted along the road. So we flipped around and headed up to hope camp ground instead. It was full. But we would not be beaten, we kept driving up until we finally found a spot, not the most ideal spot- but hey, it's only for one night.
Immediately the boys began to get as dirty as possible, they loved it- Evan probably ate about a 1/2 cup of dirt, ew, sick! I can't keep him from doing it, the worst part about it is hearing him grind the little rocks between his teeth- yuck!
Dan the man set up the tent. The boys were psyched, because even though we hadn't been camping we did set up the tent in our living room for a few days just to play in it- sorry if you think that's weird, we think it's fun.
Cooking dinner over the fire. Evan just learned how to blow, so the whole time Dan is making the fire and blowing on the fire to get it go, Evan was right by his side blowing to his heart content. :)
If you have a little chair like this I highly recommend bringing it camping- so much easier to feed the little one.
Christian, I believe, was truly in little boy heaven! After eating his hot dog we roasted marshmallows, he kicked back in his chair and ate each marshmallow at a leisurely pace all the while saying "I lovvvve camping!"
Even though it was a quick trip, we sure enjoyed our time, we're hoping we can squeeze at least one more in between Dan's Pimpernel rehearsals.
