We have become a creature family!

Well it was bound to happen, I am outnumbered by 3 in this household.  Right after we moved into the new house Christian found a praying mantis, we put it in a mason jar and had plans to get it a larger cage.  Unfortunately the bottle fell in a drive way and the praying mantis survived and flew away before we could recapture it. Christian was devastated and cried pretty hard about it.  A couple mornings later we found another one in our garage, we couldn't believe our luck!  We got proper housing for it and read up online about them.  All other bugs caught before now had a very short lifespan and we were hoping to keep this one alive!  Well we have done a good job because she has been with us since the beginning of August and she is thriving.  She has laid two egg sacks!  The boys love watching her capture bugs and eat them while their legs are still wiggling, it is cool but gross all at the same time :)

While at the sand dunes with the Robertson's, Raymond and Dan caught the kids lizards.  The boys did not want to part with them so we said what the heck their free right?  Well let me tell you getting a lizard habitat set up is not cheap.  Christian named his lizard Daniel Otto, after his Dad and himself, naturally.  Evan thought long and hard about what he wanted to name his and settled on Snowball.
The first time the lizards molted Evan was very concerned that they would die.  After I explained it to him he became very concerned that he would molt!  Don't worry I set him straight :)
Unfortunately Snowball just passed away a week or so ago, the boys were pretty sad.  So now Daniel the lizards gets all the crickets to himself and seems to be doing well, fingers crossed!

Halloween 2013

Once again, I failed at taking more pictures these are all we have of all the fun that was had during the week of Halloween and on Halloween.

Kings of the Cold!

Devin and Heidi had come over to hang out one night and as they were leaving the boys went out the front door and they all promptly stripped off their shirts and were yelling "we are kings of the cold!" It was so funny and random.  Boys, they are crazy :)

Justin gets the Melchizedek Priesthood

Man I love the Duckwitz family, they are the best!  Justin received the Melchizedek Priesthood and it was a really special day.  Norbert and Susan couldn't be there because they are a way for a school year at Southern Virginia University teaching for fall and winter semester.  Dave drove from Wyoming that morning to be here for it just to turn back around and head back home that afternoon.  I am so glad he was able to be with us that day.  The day was full of happy tears, lots of yummy food, and plenty of family and conversation.

4 wheeling, woo-hoo!

Someday I will get better at taking pictures in the midst of having fun but in the mean time the few we do get will have to do.  We sure love 4 wheeling especially in the sand dunes.  Christian is getting very confident on his 90 which is good and scary all at the same time.  I took Evan on the 90 and let him try to push the gas with his thumb and steer.  He sang the whole time, but his thumb wore out fast.  We love going with Miriam, Raymond, Hayley, and Whitney, so fun to have a big group to ride around with and hang with.

Behold! Iron Man! Aka, Evan :)

Notes from Christian

I love that Christian loves to write us notes to us.  A Lot of notes! I couldn't bring myself to throw them away but I really hate clutter so I am taking pictures of them and post them here for us to remember them.  They are so sweet and I sure love him.

Moving Day!

The house was finished by the end July, we were lucky we had just had the family reunion because there were still lots of family members willing to move us.  We love the house, we still pinch ourselves each day :)

Christian and Darth Vader riding in the moving truck on the way to the new house

Here it is!  Isn't it wonderdul!

One of mine and Dan's favorite places, we have wanted a garage for so long!

Anderson Family Reunion

Our 10 year Anniversary

July 16th was our 10th anniversary and we went on a cruise to celebrate.  Neither of us had ever been on a cruise and Dan gets motion sickness so we were excited and nervous armed with motion sick patches and lots of swimsuits and sunscreen.  We took a carnival cruise and our destinations were the Florida Keys and Cozumel Mexico.  The cruise boat itself was fun but the destinations were awesome! We wish we could have stayed at each destination for much longer.  But mostly it was so nice to be alone together for a long time and just be lazy in our swimsuits.  Dan did not get sick at all on the cruise!  But after we got off the cruise he took off the patch and an hour later he felt sick to his stomach.  Turns out you should wear a patch until you get your land legs back because the feeling of being on boat made him so sick, poor guy.   But we had a lovely time, and I sure love my guy so glad I have him :)
