Allergy Update

Well we finally made it into see the Allergist! She confirmed that Evan is allergic to the following: Garlic, Dairy, Eggs, Cats, & Dogs. She was really surprised at the garlic because she says children do not have that allergy and adults usually develop it in the 20's, 30's, 40's- he is actually her first childhood patient who has a garlic allergy. Crazy huh! We are going to run more extensive tests with a blood test so he didn't have to get poked non the back a million times. Anyway, that's where we are at. We will see her again in 6 months and we are off to the races looking for vegan recipes that do not have any garlic in them, wish us luck!

Happy Birthday to Me :)

Well I am not going to lie to ya, grasping 29 was a hard one for me, but I've made my peace with it and had a great birthday. We threw a very small casual party at the park. Dan got some of those huge Costco steaks, mmmm, and we let the kids chase each other around while we visited and had a good time. It was low key and just what I wanted :)

Fun At the Park

Oh Man! We have been having some seriously beautiful days lately! I think we have been to the park almost every day for the last two weeks. My sister Brenda was in town recently and we took our kids to the park to play, we had a blast.

Evan loves to swing and go down the little slides, but he really loves to crawl around in the wood chips and try to eat them!

Brenda and two of her kids, Kirk and Gabriel have some fun on the playset.

Last year Christian was rather timid on the playsets. He would climb all the way to the top of the highest slide and change his mind. He also wanted me to follow him everywhere. This year he is just a maniac. He heads for the biggest slide when we get there and not only does he go down but he turns right back around and climbs right back up it! Little stinker!

Evan's Funny Face

I love being able to stay home with my kiddos, there are so many little things I would miss. Here's one of them. Evan is big into stacking cups right now. He loves to stack them- but I could not get him to knock them down for the life of me. When he was stacking cups the tower fell down and he got this look on his face, like "what the?!" He kept doing it every time the tower would be knocked over. It was so funny. There is a video to, but it won't upload, maybe later.

This is my attempt at taking more pictures of me with the kids, I have a lot of just them and them with their Dad, but not very many with me :)

The funny face

Easter

The Easter Bunny found us in Wyoming this year. We enjoyed a nice 3 day long visit with Dave, Heather, and their family.

Christian and the beginning of his sugar high for the day

Poor Evan, the only candy the Easter Bunny could find that he could eat without throwing it back up was peeps

More of Christian's Birthday

As you can tell from the last few posts, Dan is as excited about the 4-wheeler as Christian is :) It is such a fun present. Here are some more pics of other fun presents he received, he got spoiled by our families! Thanks again to everyone who came you really made his day.

Christian's four wheeler present (continued)

So a few days later, after a NEW battery and lots of practice, Christian got pretty good. He can even steer with Evan sitting in front of him! Now, for the record, he has taken it outside, but it has been so stormy and cold lately, we wiped the tires off and brought it back inside. Here is Christian the pro... well maybe.

Evan LOVES it too. He takes rides with Christian, just sits on it, or we steer and push the button for him. Here he is learning to push the button by himself. Just give him a few month and he will give Christian a run for his money... :)

We had a GREAT birthday, so thanks to everyone. Birthday, Easter, Conference and Wyoming in one weekend!!! WA-HOO!!!

Christian's four wheeler present

So ever since Grandpa Duckwitz got an ATV, Christian has said that he wants a "four wheeler present" for his birthday. Thanks, to Miriam and Raymond, we received a beautiful pink and purple battery powered four wheeler, and painted it black. :) Here he is opening it.

Sadly Beth had not charged the battery (and it quickly runs out anyway) So, the next morning promptly at 7 OCLOCK he could really take his first ride... and well it took some getting used to. This is one of the better videos.

In another video he says, "Oh no. I gotta get my helmet. OK guys? OK, I'll be right back." Here are some pics after he went to got his riding gear on.
