Sweet Pretzel Muffins

A favorite snack of mine and Christian's lately has been cheese and pretzels. While having this yummy snack Christian got an idea to make "Sweet Pretzels Muffins!" He said to me "All you have to do is get a plate and put some pretzels on it and pour water on it, stick in the fridge so they will get nice and cold and sweet!" He was so excited I could dampen his creative spirit even though it sounded disgusting. So he made the pretzels and he and Evan thought they were the best thing ever. They ate the entire plate and made some more... this time Christian was saving them for dinner. At dinner time he insisted that me and Dan try some of these delightful creations. Trying to be good parents we took a small piece and ate it. Soggy, slightly salt, mushy cold pretzel, um, yeah- it really was disgusting. All through dinner Christian wanted to discuss his new creation until Dan said "Hey buddy lets talk about something else now" because after tasting this little nugget of mushiness, discussing it made us both feel nauseous and our appetites were quickly slipping away. But Evan happily volunteered to help Christian eat the rest. The next day he made ANOTHER batch and saved them for Dan until he got home from work, then Dan told him even though he had tried them he didn't really care for them, and since then Christian has decided he does not like sweet pretzel muffins. This kid kills me :)

I mean come on, even though they were gross look how proud he was at what he came up with. So cute.

One more thing...

While I am posting things I don't want to forget, here is a conversation Dan had with Christian one night before prayers.

Christian: "I wish Jesus could live here"
Dan: "Why?"
Christian: "So Evan can get over his allergies."

What a sweet tender boy I have- love all three of my boys oh so very much.

Play Mates

My boys are so fun to watch playing these days. They are really good buddies and play well together most of the time. I have a few random things about each of them I wanted to write down before I forgot or they stopped doing them.
Christian: "20 hundred" This is the main phrase of Christian he uses it like "Mommy as soon as Evan is done having his turn with that I get it for 20 hundred minutes, okay?" or when he is saying his prayers he will pray "And please bless that Ashlynn and Haley will come over for 20 hundred days." or if I tell him that it's time to go in 10 minutes he will say "how about 20 hundred more minutes" Christian's turning into a little boy, he loves all thins super hero. And he is smart and catches on fast. He is sweet and will tell us all the time that he loves us and gives us kisses and hugs. And he loves to learn and can't wait for preschool to start back up again. Sometimes, when he sneezes or farts he will say "Mom I excused me!" or if he sneezes a lot "Mom I blessed you a lot!"
Evan: He is the ultimate little brother. He loves to do whatever Christian is doing- this is a good thing and a bad thing. It does well when Christian is leading them through some elaborate imaginary adventure, it does not well when we are trying to get them to eat their food because the second Christian gets up from his chair, so does Evan. Evan LOVES to read! He will sit and read with me for easily 30 minutes, which has been good to because Christian will sit with us. It's fun to go to the library and get new books every week or so with them. Evan loves his blankie and all animals. He loves to color and play with play dough. He also has quite the imagination and I will find him playing by himself quietly all the time. Sometimes he will point his finger at you and make a firing sound and say "I Iron Man" in the manliest voice he can. If you ask him a question he will most likely answer like this "mmmhmmm" or "yup" with an emphasis on the "p."
Love my boys :)

Family Reunion Craziness

I have given up trying to load pictures in the correct order so here is our family reunion in no particular order :)
Our family goes to a cabin called The Pinnacles, it's past Strawberry and we have a blast up there every year.

We always launch balloons and this year I got to be part of the crew filling up the balloons and it was quite the wet and funny experience. If you notice Dan's hat, my parents all gave us red, white, and blue hats to wear to help us remember my bro-in-law Sam who is serving in Afghanistan right now. We really did miss him a lot, and can't wait for him to come home soon.

Evan in Davy's Mexican wrestling mask... yes my brother is werid, but it's okay, I like him that way- most of the time ;)

Christmas in "July" even though this year it was in August. We wait to exchange family presents when we are all together instead of shipping them off during Christmas time. It is always funner to watch someone open the present you gave them.

My mom had these cute little foam animal hats the kids just loved. They would trade all the time and play like they were the animal.

More balloon launching (one again, blogger picture upload-not a fan)

We made marshmallow guns! It was so fun, here is Christian sweet gun

The pipe waiting to be cut.

We also played kick ball where the bases are chairs and you have to sit in each one before you can run to the next base. It was so fun

Dave and Lara brought stuff to make hemp bracelets/anklets/necklaces. Of course the ladies loved this :)

More marshmallow guns. For reals if you want to see grown men run around and laugh like kids, make marshmallow guns. They split off into teams and shot each other till every one was feeling light head from blowing so many marshmallows. It was quite the clean up but worth it, so fun!

There is a little stream in front of the cabin and the kids imaginations went wild. This year they all found poles and tied on long leaves to them to make fishing poles. They would fish for hours.

And if the marshmallow guns were not enough.... we also made a potato gun which made a nice resounding Boom every time we fired it.

And of course we can't forget the tire swing. Evan loved it but I have to say the kid who loved it the most this year was Little Kirk, he could have swang the whole time and it still wouldn't have been enough.

Christian loves all of his cousins, but Ty and him are two peas in a pod. They were hardly every without each other the whole time, and we are really missing him and the rest of his family right now.

Camping with the Robertsons

We went camping with my sister Miriam and her family a few weekends ago. We went up Fairview Canyon by Huntington Lake and it is GORGEOUS! We definitely want to go back up again. Miriam and Raymond just bought a huge 5th wheel camper that can sleep like 10 people. So when we told Christian we were going camping he said so matter-of-a-fact, "Yep, and I know there are no potties up there, but that's okay I can pee on a bush!" We had to explain to him what a camper was and all the nice amenities involved :) Mir and Ray also have 4 wheelers and as we know Christian and Evan are crazy for them so we rode and rode and rode. We also brought up there little power wheel 4 wheelers and let them go crazy. Christian's actually worked really well up there, and he kept shouting at the top of his lungs while he was riding "This is the best thing EVER!" Evan's was low to the ground and kept getting high centered on every rock he tried to pass over, but no worries he still got his fair share of rides, even though he would cry every time it was someone else turn. Ha ha, love my BOYS!

It was cold up there, so I am glad we got to sleep inside, check out how huge, we played games at night and the kids watch a movie.

What We have been up to the last month!

Evan learned how to do somersaults so we are somersaulting fools around here

Christian dress as super man climbing the wall like spider man

Christian attempting to fly with his kite by jumping off the couch, neither boy or kite was hurt in this incident :)

Teaching my boys how to be nosy neighbors. They love talking to the doggy next door through the fence

And just general goofing off and such

And some where in between all of this we had 4th of July and 24th of July, lots of swimming and splash pad fun. And you may be saying "Beth where are all the pictures" and I will tell you that I failed miserable and taking pictures this month and promise to do better this next month :) Happy August everyone and Happy Football Season, soon to come!!!!
