Happy Easter and Happy Birthday to Me

We had a very busy and fun Easter this year. It was also my birthday the big 30! Of course I have tons of pics of my boys and Easter and none of birthday celebrations, I need to get better taking pics of me and Dan and not just the super cute boys :) For my birthday Dan spoiled me rotten with clothes and my girlfriends kidnapped me at 6:30 in the morning on Saturday and took me to breakfast, just like we use to do in high school. It was super fun and I loved it.
As for Easter morning the boys had a great time. Our Easter bunny hides our baskets, so they boys have to find their baskets and then go down stairs to find the eggs and toys the Easter bunny has left them. It was so fun this year because both of the boys knew what was going on and were super excited. It probably helped that we had about 4 other Easter egg hunts before Easter! We are all candied out at our house!

Evan got all the easy Easter egg finds

Evan found his basket, with a little help of course!

Christian found his too!

Of course the Easter bunny is fun and all but this year I am grateful that Christian is old enough to listen, understand (to a point), and retain the true meaning of Easter. Christ atoned for our sins and was resurrected, He Lives!

Pure Bliss!

There are many advantages to being a middle child. One of those are the many clothes and toys we inherit as my older siblings kids grow out of clothes or become to old for certain toys. My sister Miriam gave this little 4 wheeler to Christian for his birthday, she has had it in her basement for awhile because her kids are too big for it (well, her kids are on to riding a 90 and a 200cc). We took a picture of it sitting on our front porch and gave it to Christian. He ran to the front door and was elated! The batteries had not been charged so he couldn't just hop on it and go. The next morning we tried the charged batteries to no avail, we had to order new ones and wait for them to arrive. The shipping said they would arrive around the 22nd so when they showed up on Friday we were so excited. We had to call Dan at work and Christian was just in a panic, "Dad the batteries are HERE!!!" And then we tried the batteries to see if they needed to be charged, Christian pressed on the gas pedal and off it shot. Then we had to call Dan again, Christian was giggling and could barely talk he was so excited. The crappy thing was that the weather had been awful. Dan came home from work and it had stopped raining so he bundled up Christian and off they went to give the 4 wheeler a go. Christian of course loved it and handled it really well. I have a feeling we will spend many a day and evening on this thing this year, as soon as the weather will cooperate with us.

The Kid is 4!!!

I cannot believe my Christian boy is 4! We not only had his first friend party the weekend of his birthday but we also had 2 family parties and by the time Tuesday rolled around we were party pooped out, got to figure out how to consolidate some of these parties.

Christian's friend party was so fun. He had a super hero party and wanted his 3 best boy buddies, Jack, Tyson, and Ben to come. (of course I loaded the picture in the wrong order again, so hang with me while I jump around from the events of the day).

Here they are the super heroes of the party all decked out in the masks they made and the capes that I made (I know I am so crafty! Whatever, my first attempt at craftiness, but they turned out pretty good)

Here's Jack, he just finished his mask and he is showing off his muscles

Super Tyson

Christian working hard on his mask, he took it very seriously and the mask continues to receive more detail every day. :)

The madness of helping little boys decorating their masks

We had a "Save the Day" Super hero obstacle course (in the wrong order... of course)

Jack sliding down the slide saving the kitty

Christian climbing the mountain and passing through the waterfall

Maneuvering the hot lava pit

Crawling through the tunnel

Riding the super hero car to the lava pit, and don't forget their super hero secret hide out.

Some of the other things we did that I didn't get pictures of were Super hero target practice with bean bags. And after having pizza we discovered a villain had taken our cupcakes and led us on a treasure hunt to find the missing cupcakes.

The party was super fun, but tiring! So glad I had Dan, Katie, and Heidi there to help out.

Real Salt Lake

Dan's work offers tix to a whole bunch of events and we decided to go to a Real Salt Lake Soccer Game. Besides our lack of planning adequate time to drive, park, eat, and get to the game on time (we made it there just as half time started) it was a super fun date. It was raining, but it wasn't too cold and we were lucky and sitting under the covered part of the stadium. I love going to live sporting events, there is just something about the energy of the crowd and the smell of the grass that is just awesome. So, if you are looking for a different date idea, you should hit up a soccer game, the tix aren't too expensive and you'll have fun.
