Uncle's Are Awesome

It's never dull when Uncle Davey is around. Yesterday I asked Dave to come over and give me a refresher course in hemp bracelets because I wanted to do them at girls camp this year. Of course Dave showed up at my house in a red morphsuit and the kids went crazy. We had to go to a couple craft stores and Dave shamelessly walked through each store holding both of his nephews hands wearing this ensemble. :) When we got back home the fun really got going when he said he would let the boys try on the suit which was super cool, ha ha!

Behold! He is The MAN!!!!

Well he did it! Dan had a bout of craziness and agreed to run a company team for the Ragnar Relay, The Wasatch Back. It's a 24 race that starts in Logan goes down to Heber than back up to Park City. He has been training for it since October, but was still slightly intimidated. Th team had to leave at 6:45 Friday morning to get there in time to get signed up and ready to run at about 10:15 a.m. Each runner had 3 different legs to run through out the race. Dan's first was 7.4 miles all up hill on a dirt road at 1:42 p.m. Second leg was 4.2 miles at 10:00 p.m. and the last one was at about 9:00 a.m. for 3 miles. Both the second and third run were more moderate/mild with not to much up hill or down hill. He had a great time and only slept about 15 minutes the entire time. He came home on Saturday around 5:30, ate dinner, and then crashed into bed at about 6:30 and slept until 9:00 the next morning. We were able to go up to Heber to see him run his last leg. It was so fun. Christian kept yelling out the window, "You're doing great Dad!" "You're Awesome!" "Your the Man, Dad!" It was super cute and just what he needed to push through the last day. What a champ. Dan said that his motto was "To stop running as soon as possible" He really isn't a fan of running, but enjoyed the team aspect of the race. It was fun to have this going on during Father's Day weekend, we are so glad to have such a great husband and Dad in our lives. Love you Babe!

Summer Fest

Well we had another great summer fest. I like going out and being in crowds and having fun with our family. The boys had a great time. We went on the Ferris wheel and both of the kids would giggle and giggle and giggle when we would come up and over on the wheel.




Of course we had to ride the classic little kid rides that go round and round for forever



We did the parade and fireworks with our cousin and Devin and Holly came and joined us as well.

We had such a fun day and now we are EXHAUSTED!!! But it was worth it :)

Slip N' Slide

You know when your kid mentions he wants a slip n' slide on several occasions and always says "Pleeeeeeeaaaaasssssssse, I really want a slip n' slide" that when you find one for 7 bucks you have to get it. Christian was giddy when he found it hidden in the back of the car, and I knew that by the end of that day we would have to have our first slip n' slide experience. And Christian did not disappoint, he loved every second and didn't care if water got in his eyes.

Careful where you point the finger

Well our camera has died and we have not had time to get a new one yet. So I thought I would share a funny memory I've been thinking about lately.
Back in my dance days at good old UVU (UVSC) then we had the beautiful studio, a full wall of windows to let in tons of natural light, gorgeous floors nice and smooth with no nicks to hurt bare feet. We were some what possessive and a little snooty about protecting that floor. It clearly stated "Barefoot Studio" and when we saw anyone in there with shoes we would escort them out and look for any damage. Well we started noticing these long red scuff marks, there was no indentation, but still... BAREFOOT STUDIO PEOPLE!!! Our company had come to the conclusion that some ballroom chick with red ballroom shoes was sneaking in with her shoes and leaving these red scuffs all over our beautiful floor. We were all determine to catch this chick and give her a piece of our mind. One day as we were beginning to assemble for practice my friend on the company BJ said "Guys! I know who the red shoe ballroom chick is!!!" We all looked at her expecting her to reveal a name and then she ran the top of her foot across the floor leaving a long red scuff mark. She was wearing red nail polish on her toes, so were half of the members of the company and our director as well... um to say the least we all felt foolish and childish. I just wonder if I have learned my lesson, or how many times have I blamed a made up culprit when the only person the finger needs to be pointed at is myself.
