I need some advice

So I've been thinking about getting a sling for the baby because I've heard it is a life-saver when you've got a toddler you are chasing around. My sister-in-law let me read some posts from her friends that started to get me thinking... like everything out there, there are many options in slings. I am looking for a little advice from any of you who have used slings. To be honest I probably will only use the sling while the baby is fairly young... but who knows maybe I'll get addicted and keep him in it for longer. Any input on whether you have had one or know someone who has had one, please educate me! Thanks!

When Tasha was youg we bought a baby carrier thinking it would come in handy. We probably used it twice. I couldn't put it on myself which defeated the whole purpose of having one BUT then with Ty I talked Rob into letting me get a Baby Bjorn because I knew I couldn't handle three kids without a little help. I LOVE IT!!! It has literally saved my life. It's easy to use, can be used with a newborn and adjusts as the baby grows. It's worth the money. It's FABULOUS!!!

I love mine. You can come check it out. My friend makes them and they are pretty reasonable. I used mine until recently now brody weighs to much for me to want to lug him around but you can change the position so once he can hold his head and support his back they can sit on your hip. It's hard to explain but come over and see :) I have that stroller I want to get rid of too so check that out as well

Hey Beth- I had a baby bjorn carrier and used it all of the time. I thought that it was the greatest thing out there until I tried my step-sisters "hot sling." That totally wins. It was nice because the top was a little rigid so that you could still see the baby and she can even nurse her little girl while walking around doing other things and nobody even ever knows. Anyway, I hope that helps and I hope that you are doing well.

My Ergo carrier (best backpack kid thingy in the world!!) has an infant/newborn insert, that I used with Tyson a lot. Granted it takes about 10 more seconds to put on than a sling, but it is something that grows with your child (up to 5 years old), plus it's still super comfortable.

Beth~ I'm making you one. It's like the one I had a friend make for Kirk. It's not bulky at all, and very adjustable. But if you find anything else you like, I won't be offended. It's all about how things work for you. =)

Tag...Please post the fourth picture in the fourth picture folder on your computer and include a description.

My friend Amanda has one of those wrap slings that you can wrap in all kinds of ways. She went to Mexico when her baby was 2 months old and loved having it. She said that it was very comfortable...much better than her Baby Bjorn. And it offers multiple carrying options.

Beth- (tried to post this and am not sure if it worked, so here goes again)

Okay, so here is my experience.

I bought a hot sling from hotslings.com. It was REALLY cute! Unfortunately, I found that it did not really work much past two months, because there is not a lot of support for your back. As Jacob got bigger- it pulled on my back and made it so that I could not wear it very long without having a lot of back pain. i also had trouble with getting the right size for me and the baby, having to send it back and pay several shippings. Overall, it was really cute to wear, but i would not buy it again.

I will be purchasing a Moby wrap for the next baby. I have read A LOT of reviews/info on these, and they are great, and now even come in cute designs. Most importantly they have a lot of support divided equally throughout your upper body and are nice, snug, and safe for baby. Another thing I love about this design is that you can adjust the "size" as the baby grows. you cannot do that with hotslings. I also found that I did not feel that Jacob was safe when I would bend over with him in the hotsling, but with the Moby wrap (you should watch the video on the webpage) the security of the baby is undeniable and you could easily bend over or move as needed without worrying he will fall out.

I hope this helps. Love you.

Oh and as far as price goes- they are all pretty much the same 50-80 dollars. Also, with the Moby you can wash it in the washer, which makes it really nice and convenient.
